Hi All,
Got a PSP with Ridge and VC so wanna get online for some multiplayer.
I've bought a Buffalo Wireless USB Key (WLI-U2-KG54-AI-3) to get the PSP on my network.
My setup is as follows:-
2xwindows2k machines networked using a hub and cat 5 cable. One of these machines(host) receives broadband via a PCI modem and shares it thru ICS to my machine.
My machine has the buffalo key installed in it. The PSP and the key connect to each other fine(adhoc mode, channel 1, no encryption) but I cant get the network update to work, it tells me "A Connection Error has occurred" (80110482)
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Many thanks in advance

The AdHoc settings are for connecting to other PSP systems (and XLINK) only, they will not work for network update. To update firmware it needs an access point (ie router/gateway) so this is not a viable way to test your connection to Xlink.
To setup your Xlink connection I would advise checking out CPhoenix's post here http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5649 |

So the wireless key I've bought is no good for updating the firmware, but I should be able to play games using it?
The setup in the picture you linked to is the same as mine except I dont have the winroute software on the machine receving the broadband. |

You can probably set the usb key to infrastructure mode to allow it to act as an access point (think buffalo stuff comes with a software just for this purpose). |

Hi Phoenix,
I have a buffalo usb WLI-U2-KG54-AI-3. I can get the PSP connected to the PC as you have shown in your instructions, but when I open Kai it does not show my PSP.
My setup is identical to the one you show in your images, except in place of the laptop is a win2k desktop with the USB wireless key installed.
I dont know what to do from here, can you help?
Thanks

I've decided to reply in your thread rather than spam the sticky thread.
If you have followed my pic guide and loaded the USB WiFi, PSP and Kai in the correct order (I can't stress how important this is), one other thing would be to changing some of the Advanced Settings (for your USB WiFi) in Device Manager (BE CAREFUL and read your manual).
Hopefully I will see you Kai and some point and give you a hand (I'm on most nights). |
