WrtKaidCommander: Manage KAI engine on the WRT54 using XBMC

Zodiac.. I downloaded the WRT Commander and put in my scripts. When I run WRTCommander from within XBMC and choose to Stop or restart Kai engine on WRT it says please wait and never does anything else.

I was just thinking perhaps I forgot to change the root password within the config file to my actual password. I will check that.

Yeah it was the password. Once I changed it from the default to my actual password within the config file it worked like an charm thanks for the script man. What an Life saver.

So this works with the latest kaid version 7.0.0.4b?

Im not sure. Im still using the last version because I don't have an WRT54gS I have an WRT54G so there was no reason to upgrade to newest version. I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Maybe Zodiac will see this post. Otherwise maybe you could send an message directly to him asking.

Hi, i have a WRT54GS with Alchemy-6.0-RC5a v3.01.3.8sv. And cant get WrtKaidCommander to work. I have emulated the form post and found:

http://192.168.0.1/apply.cgi?submit_type=start&submit_button=Ping&change_action=gozila_cgi&action=Apply&ping_times=1&ping_ip=ps

displays the command "ps" but when i change the command to "/tmp/kaid -h"

http://192.168.0.1/apply.cgi?submit_type=start&submit_button=Ping&change_action=gozila_cgi&action=Apply&ping_times=1&ping_ip=/tmp/kaid%20-h

(just to see if it works) it displays File not found. Regardless, when y execute the command using the www interface it works 100%. I think it has something to do with the url encoding or some parameter i have missed. Someone could help me please.

On my WRT54g I downloaded kaid and kaid.conf from the router using wget. Then used WRTcommander to start and stop it. I couldn't get it to download WRT from the webserver using WRTCommander though. not sure why that was. As long as its working im happy. Just can't reboot my router without loosing the files Sad

The scripts downloads kaid and kaid.conf from a different location than teamxlink .. maybe those files were not updated ..

Hi, i have a WRT54GS with Alchemy-6.0-RC5a v3.01.3.8sv and WrtKaidCommander didnt work. I dont know if it happens to everyone, but i changed the source code (.py) and now it works. I dont know Python, but i just hard coded the complete URL of the commands send to the router. If someone is interested, ill post the source code.

booo nothing seems to work for me. Anyone know why WRT Commander would stay stuck on...

"Executing commands on WRT"

I'm using the latest Alchemy (7a) and made sure the webserver is on by browsing to it on my pc. I also put the kaid files in the webservers folder in xbmc. Nothing is happening though when I actually do the install. What could be the reason that this isn't work?

This is frustrating. It worked perfectly last night but I turned on the xbox rignt now and tried connecting and it didn't work. So tried installing again and stopping and restarting etc. and even though it looks like the script is doing something I can't connect to the service at all.

Just wanted to say a big thank you for the script. Running it on a WRT54G using Alchemy-pre7a v3.37.6.8sv. Easy set up and install, no problems at all so far Very Happy

Actually, I spoke too soon: using the script I can start Kaid on the WRT, I can browse arenas etc through the GUI on XBMC and through Amaryllis (the Mac OSX GUI), but as soon as I go to join a game it won't show up in my System Link menu. So everything works except the important bit:-)
Not sure what could be causing this. I'm running a version 2.0 WRT with the latest Alchemy firmware. I'm also running wirelessly, from the WRT to an Airport Express (via WDS) to the Xbox. I figure it's something to do with my config file, either the SniffDevice (I've set it to eth1) or the manual MAC address (I've got the Xbox MAC address - do I need the MAC address of the Airport Express or the WRT as well?)
Oh - I also updated to the latest Kaid MIPS release (7.0.0.4) and conf file (and simply ftp'd them to the web directory of XBMC).
Any ideas?

Never mind - looks like I fixed it. Changed the SniffDevice back to br0 (which is what it was originally) and everything is working fine.
Still, I thought br0 wasn't supposed to work for a v.2.0 WRT, which is why I changed it in the first place. Lots of contradictory information around.
Anyway, it's working, which is all that really matters.

Just wanted to say thanks for the script, was having issues ans didnt want to put k-station since I am using pre7 or whatever the hell they are calling it now and it works like a charm!

You come up with any other neat toys let me know, this is really getting fun now.

Is there anyway we could specify the name of the backgroud & Sniff device in the config file?

You have to be a member but then you log into the forums and click on download and then talisman.
