How do you check if you have a wireless card in your comp? Do you need one even if you have a router?

If you haven't bought one, you haven't got one (unless it's a laptop with Centrino). Of course you need one. A wireless card on it's own is useless. So too is a wireless router on it's own, considering you have to think "Where does Kai actually run"? On my PC. Does your router have a clue what Kai is, what arenas are, and what the PSP is? Nope..

I have a PSP and want to connect internet to play with others with your programme "Kai". I am using Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless AP+router and my PSP can connect to internet to update the software as usual.
When I have downloaded XLink Kai Evolution VII. Everytime I launch it, my PSP can't connect the internet. It shows "A connection error has occured. (80410209)

Would you please kindly help me to solve this problem coz I really want to let my PSP and NDS online.

Think about it more logically... Kai runs on your PC. Kai is doing all the work. Is Kai able to control your router / base-station through an Ethernet / USB cable if the router / base station has no idea what Kai is, what consoles are, what arenas are etc etc?

Simple answer is no.

You need a wireless device inside the PC that runs Kai if you intend on letting Kai do it's magic with wireless packets. Hence this thread is 'compatible network cards' not 'compatible wireless routers' since all wireless routers will be compatible - it's the cards we care about though.

Yeah, has anyone tried any PCI cards out there yet? My house has brick walls so it's very important to be able to use an extenral antennae for me, and I don't want to tie my laptop to the house with a bunch of cables, so PCI would be perfect Smile.

I have an old buffallo wireless G pci I buried somewhere, I'll try it out later, along with my microsoft USB one, otherwise I have to get that WLI-USB-KB11 usb dongle one and run it on a usb extnesion cord to get past the brick walls ><.

Also, people complaining it doesn't work: not all cards work - if your doing everything right and it doesn't work, you probably don't have a supported card...

Yeah, I can help you out: read wha'ts already posted more than twice before replying to a thread. And if you still have a problem, start a new thread, this one's topic is (since you obviously didn't read it) compatible wifi cards, not 'why doesn't my card work'.
