Only games with LAN mode are supported! Games with only "Local Wireless" mode are not supported unless you have a modded console with Wireless to Lan kip
Supported games so far:
ARMS
Bayonetta 2
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Mario Tennis Aces
Pokkén Tournament
Splatoon 2
Titan Quest

The next XLink Kai update is currently under development and will be released in the coming weeks. |
Will it support games that only have Ad-hok like SSBU? |

I wouldn't count on it.
I bet Xlink Kai will basically offer the same functionality as we already have with Switch Lan Play.
At the end it's just a tunel with good access management.
...but if they do, even if we need to by extra hardware (Wi-Fi with promiscuous mode), it will be totally worth it and user base should drastically rise. |

Xlink Kai can already spoof Ad-hok on PSP, so hopfully they can adapt that technique to work for the Switch |

Currently only non-adhoc has been added but we will do our best to add adhoc support!
EDIT: Nintendo did a really good job with this, reverse engineering 'Local Wireless' play is not feasible.
EDIT2: CFW users can use KIP to play |

Given that it routes the traffic without the use of a relay server it's already a *better* solution than the current Switch LAN Play implementation |

...so orbital servers are not part of connection? Haven't considered it.
In my case, relay server was on the same machine as a client so didn't really matter (at least in theory)
With universal KIP and (hopefully) SX OS support for it I hope to play with my friends all "local wireless" games, not only LAN mode ones.
Biggest pro is no Switch-side config as it should catch it ia MAC address.
Fingers crossed!! |

No, orbitals don't sit between peers - potentially halving the latency compared to the current switch_lan_play implementation. |

So far so good.
Only disadvantage is I can't have Xlink run as a daemon because regardless of IP, it takes over connection and there is no internet @ console.
I have played MK8 with some random people via LAN mode.
Inthe evening I'll test Local Wireless Mode (KIP) with my friend. |
