I am using Xlink Kai 7.4 Beta
This is the error i am getting:
23:42:34: Can't open registry key 'HKCR\http\shell\open\DDEExec\topic' (error 2: the system cannot find the file specified.)
23:42:34: Can't read value of 'HKCR\http\shell\open\DDEExec\topic' (error 2: the system cannot find the file specified.)
I am also getting "Detached from engine.." on the UI. I am also getting something in the bottom right corner when this happens saying "You are unreachable -- Enable port forwarding."
I am not exactly sure what all is wrong and would like some help. If i am posting this is the wrong area, please tell, and also if I am missing any info, tell me and I will try to get anything else needed to help.
Am trying to get online to play MHFU, using PSP with 6.30, and have a Nintendo WiFi Adapter modded with Ralink found here: http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38598&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= . |

Disabling all software firewalls on your pc should fix it. |

Thanks for all of the help, but it still isn't working, even with firewalls off, and is still saying to check port forwarding.. |

Are you sure your 100% port forwarded?
Make sure to check if your port is open.
Download PFPortChecker: http://portforward.com/store/PFPortChecker.exe
By the way, if you are port forwarded, make sure the port is 30000-30000 UDP. |

Not entirely sure what to do for PFPortChecker...
Edit: I checked, and it says it is not open |

K... just to clarify for everyone. This issue is in no way caused by a port forwarding problem. |

Don't give up the hope! Keep looking for solutions It could be that you didn't make Kai compatible. If your on Windows 7 and using Kai 7.14.8, make it compatible Windows Vista Service Pack 1, or try Windows XP Service Pack 2. |

Here is step-by-step:
First of all, you will need:
A network adapter that is compatible with Kai,
MHFU(Of course) and a PC with Windows.(I will show you on how to do this on Windows 7/Vista for Ralink chipsets adapters)
1. Plug-in your adapter and wait for it to download the drivers(Some adapters may need to be updated, like the white WiFi MAXs WL-685R)
2. Go to Control Panel->Network and Internet->Network and Sharing Center
3. Click " Change adapter settings " on the right
4. Right-click your adapter and click properties
5. A window should pop-up
6. Click IPv4 and then properties(If you got any anti-virus firewall, disable it by un-checking the box in the window)
7. Choose " Use the following IP Adress ".
ENTER THE SETTINGS AS I WRITE!
IP ADRESS: 10.0.0.1
SUBNET MASK: 255.255.255.0
AND LEAVE ALL OTHER EMPTY. (MAKE SURE TO CHECK VALIDATE SETTINGS UPON EXIT)
8. Now, open Device Manger
9. Go to Network adapters and right-click your adapter then hit properties
10. Go to advanced tab and scroll down and enable PSP Xlink Mode.
11. Above PSP Xlink Mode, there is a option called Network type, click it and change it to 802.11 Ad Hoc
12. Now enter the configuration of Kai, and set the configuration like that:
Enable PAT, PSSDK, and choose your adapter then Save.
And your done
Here is a quick-guide how to play on Kai with MHFU
------------------------------------------------------
1. Enter a room in Kai
2. Make sure you and them/he/she can see each other's ping
3. Enter gathering hall
4. If you are on Windows 7, go to Control Panel->Network and Internet->Network and Sharing Center.
5. From Sharing Center, click change adapter settings on the right
6. Right-click your adapter, and click Connect/Disconnect
7. And refresh it, then you should see something like this: PSP_1234_MHP2Q000, something like that.
And now your online ^^ |

edit: restarted pc and it says yes now, but can't see anyone.. |
