I had kai working with windows XP, but since i recently got a new computer with windows 7. Nothing is similar to what I was working with before. I tried following the guides for vista, but was running into differences. Does anyone know exactly how to get this going for win7 with this card? |

I tried following the guide for windows 7 but my device driver must be different even though PCI says kai supports it.
Im using the GW-US54Mini2W and downloaded the latest driver from here:
http://www.planex.net/download/wireless/gw-us54mini2.htm
I installed it and xlink kai. But when i got to the properties for the connection and get to the "advanced" section, it looks like this:
I cant get the PSP Xlink option to show up. I even manually updated the driver. |

change the compatibility of the installer to XP service pack 2!
then run through the installation and overwrite the current files!
VOILA! you should have the option available now! |

Ok, i just tried what you suggested. I set the driver installer to compatibility. I reinstalled it, overwrote, and then it asked to reset. I came back in, and its still the same options. No psp option. My network does pick up the GW-US54Mini2W and i can even connect to my psp. Xlink Kai even sees my psp as configured. But the network is still unreachable ;(
Here is a what it looks like.

You're using a 32-bit or 64-bit OS ? |

Then you have to figure out, which driver would support XLink Mode, cause the newest doesn't support it. I'm using a VM because of this. |

It looks like Planex is using a slight modified Ralink utility, so it should also be running Ralink drivers.
Run the driver installer exe in Compatibility Mode, specifically XP SP3 mode. |

Hi, I'm using win7 64bit and also have the same problem. I try so many way till i found this.
You just need to go into Properties of your USBwireless and go into Sharing tab. Tick on Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection. After that go back into Configuretion > Advance Tab.
All of USBwireless option should be showup. |

Ok well after much playing around I have gotten Kai to work with windows 7 64bit and Planex GW-US54mini2w.
I downloaded this driver and ran it in WInXp Service pack 3 compatability mode
http://www.planex.net/driver/wireless/GW-US54Mini2/GW-US54Mini2_Windows_v1.3.2.0_CE.zip
After reboot i went to the configure tab and Psp Xlink was not there. I enabled ICS(sharing) on it and the options opened up. I then disabled sharing once again and Kai reconized it and connected.
The only downside I have found with it is You need to reconnect the device to your PsP everytime you leave the gathering hall. I played around for about 2 horus afterwards with no problems whatsoever on KAI. |
