Ok , so you finally found someone on Xlink to play with, but you can't connect ? Then it is possible that you have a different version of the game .
To fix this you and the other player need to delete the Title updates on the 360 .
To do this watch the video :

After deleting the Title updates you will have the same version of the game & it should work .
