False accusations

Is there any way that the moderators can intervene when someone is being falsly accused of cheating.

In europe (halo 2) right now there a lots of accusations spreading resulting in legitmate people being banned for no reason from most private arenas which is damaging peoples gaming and repuation.

For example, if there is evdience of people spreading rumours i.e. screenshots which have a false basis (no video evidence on these forums) can they be given a warning or such

Well mods and admins would not perm ban unless there is video evidence. If it is just the host of the arena doing the bans there is not much we can do as it is their arena. Those bans are only temporary anyway.

That could be an idea to be worked on? I've never been falsly accused (or rightly accused for that matter Wink

) Its all well and good to say someones cheating once, but unless you back it up with a video....

I think muffin means for example:

*no names mentioned* where a video has been passed from Player X about Player Y to Players A,B,C,D,E,F,G,etc of player X supposedly using autoaim, but a slowed down playback clealy shows autoaim cannot be on at all....

This is rumour spreading perhaps but how can someone be QT'd for privately giving their opinion? I'm all for stopping the rumour mongering but I'm guessing Xlink couldn't get invloved unless someone had posted a false video here?

Most accusations are just one time and forgotten but every so often as wiggys example demonstrates, some malicious rumours occur from a source and all i wud like is for that person to be cautioned, not banned but just a little nudge to say STOP Twisted Evil

yea that happens alot these days, i found out about kai only recently and b4 that me and my real life mateys have melted several controllers playing halo/halo2 on links with 6-8 players and so on, so we have reached a certain skill where most ppl accuse us of cheating simply because they cannot understand how we do some things. what i want to say is that the kai community is great,there are lots of imba players around but sometimes some ppl remind me of the medieval age of witch hunting, where among the *so called* witches, innocents got killed too... Crying or Very sad

the reason im so edgy about this whole thing is that i don't want to be accused for something i or any of my friends do, and want my name and my clan's name clear of such things,

The reason for most cheating accusations, is because there is so many cheaters. Ya'll never know who cheats and who doesn't, and its kind've sad really.
