I just went to the webiste of Zydas, the maker of the ZD1211 wifi chipset used in many USB Wifi adapters including the Datel Wifi MAX and noticed that new updated drivers (v 4.13) are available. I installed the new drivers and launched their config tool to see what features may have been added, I was surprised to see that there is a new option labelled "PSP Xlink Mode" Very Happy , I think this enables the "promiscuous" for compatibility with Xlink Kai. Anyway, I enabled this new option, followed this tutorial and it worked !! Very Happy , here are some screenshots:

Success !! Very Happy

Drivers are available here: http://www.zydas.com.tw/downloads/download-1211.asp

Please note that you can't use the same wifi card for connecting both to the psp and the internet at the same time. You've got to have another wifi/ethernet card or modem to let Xlink Kai connect through it to the internet.

Thanks to Zydas for listening to PSP users.

Darn the drivers seem uncompatible with mine, the config won't launch and the new drivers make my adapter undetectable. maybe it's because i have the EU version?

When you install new drivers on top of older drivers the install program deletes the old drivers without installing the new one. You have to run the driver install program a second time to actually install the drivers

Sorry i should have mentioned i'v tried reinstalling and uninstalling the drivers a lot in various orders allready as well as the software but no luck, the furthest i got was installing the recent ones manually but it needed a file i didnt have or software. Still only the 2nd driver update works at all which i got from codejunkies.com. I still have no idea why the config wont load.

You don't need another card, just the wifi max card and an internet connection using a diffenet interface like your usb DSL modem

Im having the same problem, iv installed and uninstalled various aspects of the software but for whatever reason the Utility runs and closes straight away. Evident by it appearing for a split second in the task bar.

Did you try contacting the vendors or you get any further gettng it to work?

I should mention im EU also.
