Does anyone know if there's anything special that needs to be done to play Xbox 1 games over XLink using a 360? I can't get it working, nor can a friend of mine. I was over at his house yesterday, and he has the Xbox and the Xbox 360 connected to the same router. The Xbox 1 can see system link games on Kai, while the 360 cannot. We started a new game on the Xbox 1 and the 360 saw that and was able to connect, so the two consoles can connect to each other just fine. The problem is the 360 won't see the games that are on Kai.
Both consoles are connected by wire to the router. They both DHCP an IP address, and there is no special port forwarding (or DMZ) going on for either console. We tried using kaid on the Mac and the Windows engine/UI, and both had the same results. We tried setting the 360 as the DMZ, but that didn't help either.
Has anyone been able to play Halo 2 on Kai using an Xbox 360? Any suggestions? |

The Xbox 360 requires the latest version of kaid for either the router or Mac. Make sure you have version 7.0.0.6a. |

If you go into the diagnostic section of the UI, does it show you that you're running version 7.0.0.6? |

No, they're the same. 7.0.0.6a will show up as 7.0.0.6 in the diagnostics screen. |

I personally can confirm that Kai (7.0.0.6) does work with Halo 2 on the 360. Before the Nov 22nd launch, I actually played a couple Halo 2 games on Kai and got my butt kicked. |

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem !!!
XLINK WINDOWS 7.0.5.7 version :
- XBOX 1 works fine over xlink
- XBOX 360 doesn't work over xlink (impossible to a game)
- XBOX 1 and XBOX 360 works fine together on multiplayer.
In the diagnostic mode, there is any XBOX 360 reconised... Only the XBOX 1...
I try my XBOX 360 with XBCONNECT, and it works fine !!! So i don't think that is a XBOX 360 or router config...
Do you have a solution ?
My config : XLink on the PC and a WRT54GS router (PC, XBOXs connected on it) |

Tried compiling 7.0.0.6-a from sources on Gentoo and still can't get it to work. The previous version of kaid that I was using let me manually input the MAC addresses in kaid.conf, but this one doesn't seem to have that option.
Any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot this would be appreciated. |

You no longer have to enter the MAC address into kaid.conf. It'll automatically detect your console. Are you getting an error message, or is it just not finding the 360? Also what is your 360's MAC address? |

The 360's MAC adress is : 00:12:5A:4B:27:D0
What the line to put the MAC in the .conf ? |

You don't put the MAC address in any more. It'll automatically find devices now. Since you have more than one Xbox going, did you change the LocalDevices line in kaid.conf to more than 1? |

Hi Guys,
Also having a problem with Kai and 360 for playing Halo 2.
I have Kai version 7.1.6.8 from looking in Diagnostic.
The problem is games appear in System Link, but every game will not let me join even when they are open.
This is not just one or two games, in which case I would have thought I was just unlucky but ALL games, even if I join a private arena.
Any Ideas what the problem is?
Cheers

I try to put 'LocalDevices=2' or 'kaiLocalDevices=2' in the kaiUserConfig.txt... but no effects...
Don't you there is simply a bug in the MAC recovering in XLINK (7.0.5.7 and upper) ??? |

I'm not sure what module you're referring to - there's nothing that I can find with that version number on it... But the 00:12:5A MAC address range is hard-coded into the Windows engine version 7.1.6.8..I know people who have used that version in backward compatibility mode with Halo 2 and I've personally used it with GR2 Summit Strike. I've also tested Summit Strike with kaid 7.0.0.6a running on Linux, FreeBSD, and a Linksys WRT54GS v1.1. I don't have Halo 2. |
