I have read all the posts, most are x-box. I am running windows98se and have succesfully downloaded and set up Instmsi.exe and xlinkkaievo7.zip.
I am using a dell 11884 wireless router, but I am completely using hard wiring(all cat5). I have configured for port forwarding as well as setting up a hard ip for my local computer. I also set up a DMZ to my local computer for now to try to solve the problem. I am using playstation2 with Gran Turismo4. I can ping the playstation as well as other computers on my network.

Now for the Kai setup.

Ui: Default
Kai Port: 30000
Kai Deep Port: 0
Pat: No
Launch UI: Yes
Launch Engine: Yes
XBox Homebrew: No
Select Profile: Normal Kai Use
Network Adapter: Autodetect and Lock
Show dangerous Nics: No
Autologin: Yes
Close Engine After: Loss of UI
Accept UI connections from: Local ip only

I have tried Kai Port: 0 and Pat on. Crying or Very sad

I have Zone Alarm Pro. I added all the Kai programs and allowed port forwarding for them all to port 30000. For now I have disabled Zone Alarm until I get a network reachable message. I use norton for virus protection only and no virus found. Ad-aware has checked for spyware and I have none. Ad-aware is presently turned off.

I need someone to do ping testing with outside my own network.

Note: I can see game icons when I switch to areana mode but when I try to access them the Kai window closes after 10 seconds. I have been unable to set up my own areana.

I thought chess was tough.

Help...... Sad

Try this again.

Change the kaiport to 0 and turn PAT on.

Your port forward is not working so we will try without.

I am no longer in the tech support arena, my time is up. I have to get back to WORK.

I have spent a couple of days going over router settings and port forwarding settings. All the posts so far seem to work once the Kai port is set to zero and pat turned on. I tried those settings and then clicked on the globe to try log into a game and zap(net unreachable). Through trial and error I realize that using a windows 98se system does not give me bubble windows but thats okay. I have more than one computer on my network so I loaded the xp version of Kai on my Xp pro machine and no dice again. One post mentioned something about the host setting but I believe I need to have a solid network reachable yes before I should change my playstation settings. My connection to my PS2 is locked and detected properly every time. I have tried the DMZ settings but no cigar. I would rather not leave my machine wide open. By the way I am using the network card that comes with PS2 sold separately. I have made screen shots of my settings but I can't seem to link them here but I can e-mail them. The virtual server settings may be the key but I need assistance because dell gives no details on this model router.

Please help. Sad

Your behind a router, your not going to be *wide open* to the internet!

So the problem is getting your network reachable still?
