TALISMAN - Anyone get kaid working on Talisman ?

I have followed the other posts to make it work on other $veasoft firmwares but I cant seem to get it to work on Talisman.
I did use the RW partition functionality in Talsiman instead of downloading it every time to /tmp but both have the same outcome.

I have the current MIPS vers of Kaid/Kaid.conf to date
I have them at /usr/local/home/kaid/
(i have also used an older version that i found a link for in these forums)
I have updated the config to my settings (username/pass,vlan0,mac)
I used startup script
rc_startup="/usr/local/home/kaid/kaid -c /usr/local/home/kaid/kaid.conf

It starts up fine but shuts down as soon as I try to connect to it. The funny thing is, is that I got this to work like 3 times using the same settings but 90% of the time it stops running as soon as I try to connect via my xbox. When it does work I can restart my xbox as many times as I want and it will work fine but when I reboot my router it doesnt work again.

I have gs vs 2. I have tried the -d -c flag as well with the same results.
I have verbose on 3 but still all I get from it is that kai is shutting down.
I have tried both forwarding the port to my router and not forwarding it.

Hmm... as I went to get the exact error it worked this time. I am wondering now if the problem is you have to wait a long time to either run the script or to connect to it after rebooting the router.

Anybody?

Also I cant find much of anything regarding "Talisman" firmware here
Does anyone know of a downside to using the RW partion on it? instead of downloading it to nvram each time? Seems 2 good to be true and I havent seen anyone mention it as it seems great for this purpose.

Also to add to my ramblings as an FYI
I tried to switch over from using nvram startup script to putting the same thing in the run box on the router config page and when my router reboots it appears to hang (flashing power light forever) I can still get on the internet and access the web interface but the power light flashes until kaid gets shut down. Not sure what this means but Ill throw it out here anyway.
