Is your network reachable? Yes
Are you using a port-forward? No (I don't believe so)
Is your console being detected? No
Brief description of your network setup (include model numbers):

DSL Modem (Westell) going into the back of a 4 port (not wireless) Belkin FSD5231-4. Out of that router comes my computer, my printer, and a another cable set to uplink into the back of my Linksys WRT54G Wireless 4 port router. Nothing comes out of that, and laptops do work with the wireless.

The psp sucessfully connects to the router with 100% signal

Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? No software firewall

Operating System? Win XP Pro SP1

Problem description? I suppose I have to get that new firmware running on the router to make this work with my current setup. My question then becomes more networking broad -- How can I access that router?

I can easily navigate to my Belkin and change any of those settings. I know those numbers by heart. But, even with the IP of the wireless router, I can't connect to it. I figure it's the Belkin blocking access to it.

I directly connect my computer into the back of the other router with no avail, couldn't find the IP for it, couldn't talk to it. I tried putting my computer into the internet slot, still no luck. I tried using the bundled software to reinstall the modem, but the program required internet access. (My internet is set-up oddly for my router).

But anyway, I tried to navigate to my modem with no avail, perhaps I could've reset it up to work with the wireless router and just use that as a primary?

The only thing I didn't do was do a hard-reset on all the hardware and try to start from ground zero.

Remembering how long it took me last time (a few days of to figure this networking out) I declined from that at the moment.

Can you offer any ideas on how to get the firmware to the router without fubaring my whole network in the process?

My advise is to just rebuild you network. It will make life in general a whole lot better Wink and not just because of Kai!
Use the WRT with kaistation as you new gateway/router.
Turn your Belkin into a "dumb" switch/hub by disabling it's DHCP features.

Use the reset button on the WRT Wink that's what it's there for.
then http://192.168.1.1 pass: admin

Let me know how it goes!

I was afraid of that ^-^;;

I was pleasently surprised to see my router was one of the two or three that would work with Kai running on it. I just bought it a few weeks back with no idea, and I checked that thread and poof Smile

Does the PSP firmware version matter?

Oh, when I'm playing psp with kai, will I still be able to use the internet with my computer on the same router?

I read somewhere that running Kai on the router will prevent that maybe?

Yes, any other devices connected to the AP drop as you have to have it in Ad-Hoc mode for the PSP.

1) While you're running adhoc mode (by pressing Scan PSP button), your other wireless devices will not be able to use the wireless router. Clicking "AP Mode" allows you to restore the router back to normal (Acess Point mode).

Are all you PC's wireless? another option would be to wire one of the wireless PC's and use that wireless card to connect to the PSP if it's a compatable one.

None of my pc's are wireless. I would never run my pc's wireless, on the sheer fact that I couldn't stand the marginal bandwidth loss. And I am a bandwidth whore. =p
