Is your network reachable? Yes
Are you using a port-forward? Yes, 30000
Is your console being detected? Yes
Brief description of your network setup (include model numbers): Zoom ADSL 5560A modem, Network Everywhere Router, Computer and Xbox hardwired to router.
Do you use a software firewall? What brand? Have you made any changes to it? Yes, VCOM SystemSuite 5 firewall, set to allow all.
Operating System? Windows XP Home Edition (not sure about service packs, but probably service pack 2)
Problem description? Xlink Kai shows the network is reachable, xbox console configured successfully, games do not show up when looking for one. I've tried to turn PAT on and set the port number to 0, but that didnt work, and set the port number back to 30000 with PAT on and still cannot see games. I even tried doing the registry tweak too for a 2 NIC setup, and one game showed up that I was able to join, and I even had a few jin one I set up. It does not work anymore though. However, XBC works fine, but I hate that program. I tried to use XBC's port in Kai but all I got was network not reachable. plz help me..

Change something in the Kai Config Tool. Select the actual network card used to connect to the router (and from there to the xbox) in the Network Adapter field.
Try testing without the firewall running. If that works recheck your firewall config with the guidelines given in www.teamxlink.co.uk/?go=faq (paragraph 2.4). |

Nope, that didnt work. The firewall's not blocking it, and I selected my network card (there is only one anyway) and still nothing.
EDIT: After playing with it a bunch, messing with the registry fix and ipenablerouter, I saw 1 game after waiting a reallt long time (like 30 mins.) and I was able to ping my friend and he could ping me. So I was doing something right, but not completly right....If someone could shed some light on this, I'd really appreciate it. |

What type of internet connection do you have?
What are you ping times? |

I have an ADSL connection, and my ping in xlink is really high or bad (when it works.) Same thing with my friends ping, when I connect to him his ping is really high. Also, we have the same ISP, dont know if that makes a difference or not. |

Ouch, same ISP and high pings doesn't sound too good.
Have you selected the NIC in kaiconfig that the console is connected to?
What games have you tried?
Have you tried playing someone other than your friend? |

I have selected my NIC in the kai config tool, I have tried Halo, Halo 2, and Ghost Recon 2. I know its not because of Xbox Live updates, since I have them all. And I havent got together to try with someone else, I just go to the main arena or into a private arena and try to join or host. |

So have you been able to play with anyone? You never really answered the question. |

Sorry about that. I been able to play, but most of the time I see no games. Very rarely does one game show up that I am able to play. So yes, I have been able to play. |

Then there isn't really much more i can tell you.
If it works, it works.
Just play with it some more and maybe you will figure out there is nothing wrong at all and it's all in your head. hehe |
