I keep getting segment faults... Can someone please help:

As you can see, the UI (running on PC) gets all the way to receiving contacts on my buddy list and segments... this is the furthest it has gotten. Normally it dies on ";Querying orbital mesh...;"
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! |

Jfave ... start Kai using :
/tmp/kaid -c /tmp/kaid.conf &
That will fix the Segmentation fault error. |

What do you mean the channels are not filling up? Do you have Kai set to point to the Router for the engine through XBMC? Perhaps you could give me an summary of your setup and settings. Has to be your settings somewhere. Have you been able to get the UI to run along with Engine on your pc? |

btheman, again thank you for all of the help,
I was incorrect in saying "channels are not filling up" I am receiving the error originally at the beginning of my post. I see my contacts but thats it. The client is not able to go to arena mode. In the ssh terminal, I am getting a segment fault again, but instead of crashing gracefully I have to hit "enter" to see it. Here is my setup:

Firmware is: Alchemy-6.0-RC5a beta build version v3.01.3.8sv
I can attach with the engine running on the PC (as in win version of kai), I cant connect (all the way) with the PC UI to linksys (kaid), or xbmc (pointing at linksys ip) to linksys. The daemon crashes everytime, what looks to me, right after the Contacts are added.... I have tried connecting with no other network devices connected other then what is above. I have done port fwd'ing, non-port fwd'ing... I am kinda of at a loss to what avenue to pusue next... any idea? TIA |

Im not sure.. my setup is xbox > linksys > cable modem. I have no port forwarding set. I have the firewall enabled on the wrt router but thats not affecting anything. If running kaid through /tmp/kaid -c /tmp/kaid.conf & didn't fix the segment fault im not sure..
Perhaps you could try starting Kai using Wrtcommander . That made it so that it connected to Kai for me. So your getting your contacts through XBMC but doesn't list the arenas? Im baffled. I just know that other people having the segment fault issue resolved it by running kaid with the full path like i said (/tmp/kaid -c /tmp/kaid.conf & ) |

actually with the full path I was able to connect with the UI, which I was not able to before. The kaid would segment immediately w/o the path... maybe a mod will hop on with the helping?  |

no not working.. just doesnt crash while (kaid) is loading... now I can connect and load my contact list, then it segments  |

Oh.. bummer. Thought you were ok now. Maybe redownload kai and kaid.conf .. Whats your kaid.conf file look like? |
