hi i require some further help getting online with my psp as i followed the picture guide in the 'sticky' and had no luck. My setup is as follows:
Laptop pc with win xp home
Buffalo WLI-CB-G54S laptop adapter
Buffalo wireless router (high speed) to match the adaptor
Cable modem connected to the router
my psp with RR
i tried the sticky guide but got stuck in getting my psp detected by kai and also i couldnt load up kai because my internet connection wasnt running due to following the steps in the guide to connect to the psp.
i am a newbie to most of this so careful explanation would be gratefully recieved.
Thanks |

How is the laptop connected to the router? If you use the Buffalo wireless adapter then you probably can't use it to connect to your PSP at the same time. |

yes the laptop is connected to the router by the buffalo wireless adapter.
But......my buffalo router supports both wireless and wired as it has 4 ethernet ports on it aswell. so in theory would i connect my router to laptop as wired then laptop to psp as wireless?

Yerp, use a wired connection between your router and your laptop then use the buffalo wireless adaptor to connect to the psp. |

Spot on. The wireless has to be dedicated to the psp you see. The laptop acts as a bridge; Psp connects to laptop, and laptop connects to both psp and router. |

Got it working ok now! shame about the lag, will have to get an all english based game going and see if it performs any better. The only problem i did encounter though was when i first hosted a game after setting everything up from scratch it worked fine. then after the first race whenever i try to host again i get some error in japanese.
does anyone know why this is?

when connected to Kai is there a way to join a specific users match being hosted? i know there is private arenas but when you in the standard pp arena all i usually do is on my psp go to join a battle and it searches for a game. As far as im aware it picks the game by chance.
The problem i had was one user wanted me to join his game and i had no idea how to join his hosted game specifically other than do what i normally do?
Can any clear this up how i go about joining a particular users game if it doesnt involve them setting up a private arena. as far as im aware there is nothing in kai to join a users game?
Thanks |
