Majority of the player base has moved over to SVDL the socom virtual dedicated lan. Works just like xlink but fixes various issues making it the smoothest experience. Linked below will be the SVDL download, SVDL discord, and socom community discord.
This only works with windows computers whereas xlink kai can be used with macos and linux. For instance, I run my ps2 through xlink kaiengine on raspberry pi and that is a way more open and accessible platform. SVDL may be a better experience for socom but I personally can't make the switch without broader support.
