I'm trying really hard to make my usb wireless adapter work with my windows 7, but as it is in 64 bits it has been a real pain.
once I installed the normal steps following this guide: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20%28x86%29/PLANEX%20ClientManager/HelpE/html/64bit_windows.html
it still does not recognise the driver, and I tryied to unistall it, however everytime I do it it displays this:
then if I try to install the driver by the given methods on the page above it just simply said that the driver was alredy installed (it obviously isn't since Client magaer still says that there is not an environment for XLink Kai)
THEN if I try just to remove the driver from the same window (Device Magaer) and try to reinstall it, is displays this:
the image lines read:
Quote: |
"Windows encountered a problem while trying to install the device driver"
windows found a software driver for the device, but there was an error while trying to install it
GW-USMicro300
The name is alredy used as a name of a service or as a name to show services
|
that was a rough translations of everything in that last picture...
I need some help on it since I've been tryng for hours just to install this..
Any help is pretty apprecianted |

Try installing MediaTek (Ralink) driver after uninstalling PLANEX driver and utility.
You can download the latest version of the device driver for GW-USMicro300 (Ralink RT3072, VID:2019, PID:AB29, FCCID:MQ4WU5208) from MediaTek web site.
1. Open http://www.mediatek.com/en/downloads/ in your browser.
2. Select USB (RT2870/ RT2770/ RT307X/ ...) for Windows in the driver list.
3. Input Your Name, Your Email and words, click SUBMIT
Make sure to configure compatibility mode and privilege level.
1. Right-click the IS_AP_STA_RT2870_D-*.exe and choose Properties.
2. In the Properties Panel, click the Compatibility tab.
3. Place a check in the Compatibility Mode checkbox.
4. Select Windows XP (Service Pack 3) in the mode box.
5. In the Privilege Level section, place a check in the Run this Program as an Administrator checkbox.
6. Click Apply to save your changes.
Run IS_AP_STA_RT2870_D-*.exe after changing the compatibility mode.
1. In License Agreement, choose 'I accept ...', click Next.
2. In Setup Type, choose Install driver only, click Next.
3. In InstallShield Wizard Complete, choose 'Yes, I want to restart ...', click Finish.
Next, make sure to configure PSP XLink Mode in the device driver after restarting your computer.
1. Open Device Manager.
2. Right-click GW-USMicro300 and choose Properties.
3. In the Properties Panel, click the Advanced tab.
4. Select PSP Xlink Mode in the Property box.
5. Change Value to Enable.
6. Click Apply to save your changes.
Finally, you'll be able to connect to your PSP/PSVita by wireless network in Windows 7.
1. Click wireless network icon in the right side of the taskbar.
2. Select PSP SSID in Wireless Network Connection list.
3. Click Connect to link your PSP/PSVita.
Thanks. |
