I have mac osx, a psp, and have heard that one can use a usb cable to connect. what would be my best route? would like to play MHFU. thanks y'all!

There is no AdhocToUSB for OS X. You must buy Kai compatible adapter.
I'm playing MHP/MHF series using PLANEX GW-USNano on OS X 10.9.2.
