Hello

I have a PS3 JB running 3.41 and would like to use xlink kai to play Black Ops however Im getting a headache trying.

Can someone please help me!!!

I have connected my PS3 via lan cable to my router (belkin) and have forwarded the neccesary ports.

However I still get the following when I login to xlink.

I do not get the DNS error that Im supposed to get either so Im sure that must be something to do with it.

Im pretty sure I have it all connected correctly but it just wont work.

Any ideas??

ok got that all fixed above.

I went through the process again and it worked :s

However now have a second problem.

Im trying to play Black ops in zombie mode.

I have everything configured correctly but when I access the server list no servers are displayed and if i try to host a game i get no-one join (no-one can see it)

im running the 1.02 update on black ops with 3.41 fw on jb ps3.

my connection is wired to my router, ports are forwarded and connection is wired from my router to my modem.

anyone??

Edit: Thought I should mention that I still dont recieve the DNS error that it says in the tutorial I should get??

Not sure if that has something to do with it.

ok these are the problems I encountered and how they appear to be fixed.

Im not saying this will help anyone as they may have been specific to me but if you cant get it working and one applies to you then its worth a try!!

Stuck on "Establishing Link" when trying to login

Ports not correctly forwarded. If, like me, you are making a wired connection in the following sequence (PS3 --> Router --> PC) They need to be forwarded in the router settings. You can use portforward.com if you dont know how to do this. They also have a handy tool to check you have done it correctly.

By the way, if you get an error when you check your ports are open saying "we were unable to ping your router". You can ignore this, xlink will still function.

PS3 not showing as configured successfully

Im sure this could be any number of reasons but for me I had used the custom method of setting the internet connection settings. I then used the easy method and this worked.

I cant stress enough how important it is to ensure that xlink kai is not running when you are doing this. If you do you will get corrupt settings on the PS3.

Not finding any servers listed

Im in the early stages of figuring this out, I have successfully connected and played Black Ops in MP mode but Zombie mode still doesnt seem to show anything. You should check that someone in the room is hosting by asking and not relying on the info supplied by xlink. If someone is hosting and you cant view it then I cant be of any more help Im afraid.

When viewing Arenas you see the following: ? users / ? private arenas"

This must just be a connection issue with xlink server but I havent had any problems joining a game when I see this so I would discount it as a cause if you are having problems.

If I think of anything else I will add it on
