Kai, on start up, says :
Warning: SSID detection is not yet supported on NDIS 6.0 Drivers
and then crashes. It used to say that, but let me continue, but then I followed a FAQ that told me to install http://www.winpcap.org/install/default.htm
and now it crashes.
Uninstalling both, and reinstalling kai, did not fix the problem. Any recommendations?
All programs are checked for "Run in compatibility mode" and I am the administrator, and UAC is turned off.
When I got to "Advanced" of the device, there is no PSP mode to enable, also.
Edit: And now, I realized, that it was because my PSP was on and in ad hoc mode. So, my psp being on crashes kai. I really don't understand now. |

What guide are you using? Sounds like you installed the wrong driver. Make sure you're following the Vista-XLink instruction pdf included on the CD. Additionally, make sure you're using the Vista-XLink driver included on the CD (not the Windows XP/Vista one). |

The planex guide posted on the forums is for the older planex models.
The GW-USMini2N is the latest adapter, and thus the guide doesn't really apply. The Vista-XLink PDF file included on your CD should be the only guide you use. It'll explain how to set up the adapter AND Kai.
If you still have driver issues, try uninstalling them from Device Manager. If that doesn't work, you'll have to resort to removing the driver from Vista's DriverStore folder. |

Problem with that, is that it isn't entirely correct, or I guess up to date.
It doesn't show the screen or the step with "Install driver and utility" or "Install driver", and on the screenshot detailing how to set up "Share internet with other connections" all vista computers that are updated require you to choose what connection. And the device doesn't pop up for you to share it to there. So, I can't complete that step as specified. |

Regardless, you should have a general idea of how that adapter is installed in Vista. I'm not on my Vista machine often, but I do notice that on the option to choose which computer to share to, mine is selected to the default option (as in "select a network device" or something like that). As long as you have the PSP XLink mode enabled, everything should be good to go. |

This time xlink mode is enable-able yes, but it still doesn't seem to work.
Also, about six devices, two psps, are "Detected" when I start up Kai (Which does start up properly now, without an error message). None of them have my psp's numbers/letters (that show up when I click to connect to it in the vista networking thing)
Planex wireless utility doesn't work now, also. It says LAN card status: Good, shows that its connected and such, but I can't get the actual utility to pop up. And if I remove my USB, it completely shuts down and doesn't work anymore.
Edit: I have to run atm, but thanks for your responses thus far, and if you respond again before I get back: Thanks much! |

Okay despite saying it wasn't working, suddenly it is now, at least for the moment. I changed my settings so that all my networks were public networks (Meaning that I am in a public place, thus I guess in another sense they are private?) and suddenly they detect just one psp, and I can join people.
So thanks for the help : D |
