Hahaha, we seemed to have lost track of the reason for this forum-thread...
I wonder how that happened. One moment we are talking about one indian person in a company and the next we are talking about Gilligan's Island.
At least there are to l's in the word Gilligan, that's the thread this thread is hanging by. |

What would you do if you were in my place? |
I'd start thinking of ways to improve my career. I would hate to live my life in fear of losing my job every day. Do you want to work in that store all your life? If not, what do you want to do? How can you make that happen?
I would write down a 5 year plan on paper. After that write down a 1 year plan on how you can reach those goals. Then get off your butt and make it happen. |

To tell you the truth llnk working at a convenient store is very risky, one small screw up could cause me my whole job. I explained my first mishap in the first post. |

I did the gas station/convenience store circuit while I was still in school and I can sympathize. I remember hours of counting inventory (unpaid) because, heaven forbid, a packet of peanuts goes missing during shift change overs.
You're obviously better skilled and destined for a more demanding job than being a store clerk. My advice: save 6 months wages then quit. That should keep you afloat while looking for an office job.

Not house payments as I was living with my parents, but I was paying my University tuition fees and travel expenses which cost more than my mortgage payments. I was working midnight to 8 am and my first class started at 8:30 am (3 hour psychology course).

Why yes. My upbringing was in a heterosexual household where my 'parents' consisted of one mother and one father. Not sure I see the relevance though.

TT: Take P's advice, and also, put the pipe down once in a while
Mort: Watch your mouth or I'll remove you. You have been warned.

I don't know how much you were getting payed but for me I usually have to sacrifice little more then 40 hours of my paycheck just to get the bills payed off. As for the house payment it's a different story. |
