If your TV can recieve 720p, set it to that. That is what all 360games are at.
I have mine set to 1080i. The 360 converts the 720p to 1080i, for those of us who can't receive 720p. |

Ya most TV's can either display one or the other natively, and converts the other format on the fly. Here's a general rule of thumb (and there are exceptions to this):
CRT / Rear projection TV -> 1080i
LCD / Plasma flat panel -> 720p (newer high-end models do 1080p)
LCD/DLP Rear projection -> 720p |

this gets mentioned in every froum i came accross
set it to what YOU think looks good.
there are advantages and disadvantages to one or the other. google it.
i said this elsewhere, you never gonna get the "native" via component cable. so setting it to say 1280x720p and your TV has the resolution of 720p don't mean you are getting pixel-by-pixel native pictures.
but most LCD HDTV don't have these 1280x720p, as to 1280x768 and whatever.
also this actually dephend on the transcoder built in the TV it self. i have seen many TVs of same size of same resolution on some model, like Samsung, it's better at 720p, while like some Sony/LG 1080i looks better. |

Exactly. People will argue nonstop about which looks better. I've seen it both ways and on the right TV, you can't even tell the dif between 1080i and 720p. |

saw some CES report over at GameTrailers.com that LG had the 108 inch 1080p, but not for sale, there is a 72inch for $70,000 |

Yeah given the same resolution, P is always better than I. But the higher resolution of 1080i vs. the non-interlaced 720p is a judgement call.. |

So what settings do you use for the 360? upscaling 720p or deinterlacing 1080i? |
